Senior Associate Vice Provost for Strategy, Engagement, and Analytics Position Summary:

The Senior Associate Vice Provost for Strategy, Engagement, and Analytics (AVP) serves as the chief strategy, external engagement, and analytics officer for student success initiatives across the university. The AVP provides strategic leadership to foster alignment and maximize efficiencies across administrative functions that support the entire student experience and oversees teams responsible for student‑focused communications and engagement, enrollment and student affairs marketing, fundraising, development, data and analytics, and new student and family programs. The role builds and operationalizes a shared services model that integrates HR, IT, finance, and operations staff supporting student success, and collaborates across the institution and athletics to enhance the student‑athlete experience.

Responsibilities • Supervise and provide strategic direction for the Director of New Student and Family Programs, Coordinator of Student and Family Support, Director of Enrollment Research and Analytics, Director of Student Affairs Special Projects and Communications, Director of Enrollment Marketing and Communications, and provide dotted‑line oversight of senior development/major‑gift officers supporting Student Affairs and Enrollment Management.

• Serve as a key strategic advisor to the Senior Vice Provost for Student Success, uncovering opportunities to enhance the student and family experience, increase operational efficiencies, and achieve division goals.

• Foster collaboration and maintain connections among functional areas, leveraging modern marketing and communications, improving data infrastructure, and creating personalized student engagement.

• Partner with athletics staff to ensure the student‑athlete experience reflects the university’s commitment to academic success and holistic support, and maintain a close relationship with the Athletics Director and leadership team.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Relevant post‑Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of relevant experience in place of a post‑Baccalaureate may be considered.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience A strategic thinker with an open and collaborative leadership style; a results‑oriented leader with a passion for operational excellence; significant experience in communications, marketing, data analytics, student affairs, enrollment management, student success, student athletics, or related fields; capacity to provide evidence‑based, data‑informed insights; proven ability to use data and analytics to drive institutional effectiveness; experience leading projects to successful conclusion; experience managing and mentoring staff; commitment to ethical standards and professional integrity; exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills; ability to handle confidential situations with diplomacy and sound judgment; ability to promote a collaborative work environment.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience A doctoral or terminal degree in a relevant field is preferred. The ideal candidate will have experience managing large, complex organizations in a large, public research university, demonstrated decision‑making and problem‑solving skills, collaboration with diverse stakeholders, and success in evolving programs and units in response to changing student and business needs.

Campus Security Authority Responsibilities This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act and is required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual reporting training.
