Large Format Printer Operator (Prepress & Grand Format Production Specialist)
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Large Format Printer Operator to join our production team. This role requires strong experience in large-format printing, prepress workflows, and digital print production in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This is an onsite position only (not remote). The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in wide-format printing, file preparation, and production finishing, with the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining exceptional print quality standards. Key Responsibilities Operate and maintain large-format and grand-format printing equipment for daily production workflows Perform prepress file preparation, preflighting, and file correction for client-submitted artwork Communicate with clients regarding file requirements, corrections, and print production specifications Support and operate a large-format print production department, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and quality control Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting of printing equipment Manage inventory, stock control, and production materials Print on a variety of substrates using flatbed and roll-to-roll printing systems Perform finishing tasks including vinyl weeding, application tape, mounting, sealing, and laminating Ensure consistent output quality across all large-format print jobs Maintain organized workflows in a fast-paced production environment Required Experience & Skills Extensive experience in large-format printing and print production (required) Strong background in prepress and wide-format production workflows Proficiency with industry software including:
Onyx Thrive (required) Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator Adobe Acrobat (PDF prepress workflows)
Ability to preflight, correct, and prepare client files for production Strong understanding of print specifications, file formats, and production requirements Experience with vinyl application, weeding, mounting, and finishing processes Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, deadline-driven production environment Equipment Experience (Preferred/Required) HP Scitex UV Flatbed Printer OCE Colorado Series Printer Mimaki UVJ556-320 Grand Format Roll-to-Roll Printer EasyMount mounting/laminating systems
