A Complex Director of Sales is responsible for maximizing the value of the asset by driving above‑market topline revenues and creating a world‑class culture to attract and retain the very best talent across specific commercial functions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the group, transient, and catering sales teams and deploy creative, dynamic business strategies that achieve the hotel’s annual budget and crossover targets.
  • Oversee commercial strategies for the sales team, improving performance by linking strategy with business processes that impact revenue streams—including group rooms, banquet revenues, and ancillary spend.
  • Set deployment plans, team composition, and provide a predictive‑prescriptive cadence of activities to drive performance.
  • Contribute to the hotel’s Annual Multi‑Year Strategic Intentions and Commercial Strategy in partnership with the commercial leadership team and regional sales, revenue, and marketing support.
  • Directly accountable for setting and delivering hotel sales targets, including Direct Selling Revenue Streams such as group rooms and banquets.
  • Ensure Business Review Guidelines (current to +5 years) and Group Pricing & Rate Quotation Strategies maximize pricing components and achieve positive group market share.
  • Align sales activities with the optimal mix, contribute to accurate revenue forecasts, and execute strategies for varying demand periods and retail/group pricing targets.
  • Maximize profits in line with GOP and EBITDA targets.
  • Operate within departmental expense budgets and forecasts.
  • Contribute to market activity intelligence in collaboration with hotel commercial leaders.

Leadership

  • Lead daily and weekly business review and sales strategy meetings.
  • Manage and execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual APEX performance process with eligible sales team members.
  • Collaborate with DOSM to contribute to the commercial strategy plan pertaining to sales, socializing and amending the plan consistently.
  • Develop and oversee the hotel’s sales site‑visit strategies and approach.
  • Conform to Hilton brand standards, corporate identity, and use all communication tools.
  • Recruit and retain all sales roles.
  • Lead, engage, and develop sales team members, including ongoing performance development and Career Development Plans.
  • Conduct performance reviews for direct reports and provide feedback for dotted‑line reports, including:
    • Group Sales
    • Contract/PERM Sales
  • Facilitate and lead a culture aligned with Hilton’s DEI and ESG enterprise goals.

Ownership, Customer, and Stakeholder Relations

  • Contribute to performance and commercial activity reporting for hotels, including status communication and response plans.
  • Liaise with Hilton Worldwide Sales for demand and conversion generation.
  • Build strong relationships with CVB and third‑party travel partners.
  • Maintain high‑level engagement with customers from all sales segments, supporting the team’s site visits, pre‑convention meetings, and sales managers’ travel into markets.

The annual salary range for this role is $150,000 to $175,000, based on applicable experience and location.
