Segment Public Relations Senior Manager

As a Segment PR Senior Manager, you will serve as the primary PR partner for segment leadership teams, driving strategic communications that elevate Baker Hughes’ reputation, strengthen executive visibility, and support commercial priorities. You will lead PR strategy development, manage media relations, coordinate cross‑functional communication programs, and ensure alignment with enterprise brand and messaging frameworks.

You will collaborate closely with Thought Leadership, Brand, Marketing & External Communications, and segment stakeholders to deliver integrated PR programs that reinforce Baker Hughes’ position as a global leader in energy technology and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive PR strategies and communication plans tailored to segment priorities.
  • Coordinate and manage communication projects, campaigns, and events from inception to completion.
  • Serve as the primary PR contact for segment leadership, providing strategic counsel and building trusted relationships.
  • Identify media spokespeople and provide training in partnership with Thought Leadership and Brand & Communications teams.
  • Maintain visibility into commercial awards, earnings processes, and announcement calendars.
  • Manage media relations, including drafting press releases, pitching stories, and responding to inquiries.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, trade publications, and industry influencers.
  • Develop and execute proactive crisis management strategies to protect the company’s reputation.
  • Develop integrated PR strategies and plans aligned with segment and enterprise priorities.
  • Identify target audiences, key messages, and communication channels to maximize impact.
  • Ensure PR plans support commercial, product, and corporate milestones.
  • Lead end‑to‑end execution of PR campaigns, media programs, and communication initiatives.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional inputs to ensure timely delivery of high‑quality PR assets.
  • Support global and regional activation while maintaining message consistency.
  • Serve as the main PR advisor to segment leadership teams.
  • Build executive visibility through bylined articles, speaking engagements, interviews, and thought leadership.
  • Draft press releases, media statements, pitches, and storytelling assets.
  • Pitch and secure coverage in tier‑one, trade, and industry media outlets.
  • Respond to media inquiries and manage sensitive issues to protect reputation.
  • Align with legal, compliance, and enterprise communications teams.

Qualifications

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Have 8–10 years of experience in PR, corporate communications, or agency environments.
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to build stakeholder relationships and facilitate cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Possess a proven track record of pitching and placing stories in tier‑one and trade media.
  • Possess exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Thrive in a fast‑paced environment with the ability to solve complex problems and meet deadlines.
