Marketing & Communications (MarCom) Coordinator

Purpose of the Role
Help our nonprofit makerspace grow awareness, attendance, and engagement by managing communications with members and the broader community.
What You’ll Do
Create and distribute a monthly or bi-weekly newsletter
Manage and schedule posts across our social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
Promote: Upcoming classes and workshops
Special events and open houses
Facility news, schedule changes, and member highlights

Coordinate with board members and instructors to gather content
Maintain a simple communications calendar so nothing falls through the cracks
Time Commitment
~3–5 hours per week
Flexible schedule, primarily remote
Skills That Help
Comfortable writing short, clear promotional content
Familiar with social media platforms and basic email tools (Mailchimp, Constant Contact, etc.)
Organized and reliable
Familiarity with CRM, Google Apps and SLACK
Marketing, communications, or small-business experience is a plus (but not required)
