Hour Media, the nation’s largest publisher of city and regional magazines, seeks a driven media sales professional to lead advertising sales for our metro Detroit portfolio. This role covers print, digital, and event sponsorships across our trusted brands, including Hour Detroit, DBusiness , Detroit Design, Compass Media, and many other print, digital, and event platforms. The position focuses on helping businesses reach their target audiences through high-profile platforms while building lasting client relationships. The ideal candidate is results-oriented, skilled in consultative selling, and motivated to contribute to the continued growth of these publications.


Location: Troy, MI


Job responsibilities include:

• Research and cold call prospective advertisers

• Ongoing high level of sales activity (phone calls, e-mails, networking, face to face meetings, virtual meetings)

• Effectively articulate and communicate the marketing opportunities available to help companies reach target audiences

• Speaking daily to industry professionals

• Develop proposals

• Introducing our brands to new partners

• Manage and track sales activity

• Regular local and regional travel

• Achieve revenue and activity goals

• Event networking
