Your Day to Day
voco Orchard Singapore is looking for a dynamic and energetic Senior / Business Development Manager to join its team. As Senior / Business Development Manager , you will develop new sales opportunities in the allocated segments, build a robust sales platform and manage assigned account base in order to generate revenue and maximise performance both for the short and long term in line with sales target.

Financial

Manage assigned account base and business segments to exceed targets for total revenue

Research market place to actively prospect and qualify potential new accounts

Develop relationship and maintain contact with key decision makers, influencers, meeting planners, event organisers, associations and other producers to drive hotel revenue

Maintain client files and update information daily in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. Produce monthly sales-related reports and sales forecasts for assigned area of responsibility

Negotiate rates within approved booking guidelines. Accurately produce and/or review all sales contracts, rate agreements, and/or banquet/catering event orders

Monitor and report on sales activity undertaken and measurement of results through maintaining of accurate records in the sales tools and action plans. May also participate in the annual budgeting and planning process

Planning and preparation for overseas sales visit, trade fairs, educational or familiarization groups to promote the hotel and develop potential business

Conducts sales-related activities (such as sales calls, site inspections and in-house entertainments) per week in line with targets provided

Work closely with Revenue Management to ensure that pricing and yield management principles are being communicated and implemented

Monitor competitor practices and accounts, monthly RGI scorecards and diagnostic tools in order to understand competitor trends

People

Promote teamwork and quality service through communication and coordination with other departments

Set a strong example as a senior team member to help create a positive and productive work environment that delivers results and is highly engaged

Guest Experience

Arrange and conduct special events, site inspections, and off-site presentations for potential clients. Entertain clients in accordance with established company and hotel policies and guidelines

Act as a trusted business advisor by clients; ensure that commitments are met and value is delivered

Work closely with other hotel departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office and prospective clients. Disseminate sales-related information to other departments as appropriate

Maintain strong presence in the local community by participating in business / industry organisations, associations and developing a broad external network

Ensurethe wholeclientexperiencesuccessful and memorable and act as the brand ambassador and key contact throughouttheir journey

Responsible Business

Raise theawarenessand reputationof yourhotel and the brandlocally

Ensure guest safety is a prioritywith minimal interruptions or problems

Other ad-hoc duties –unexpected moments when we have to pull together to get a task done

What we need from you

Diploma/Degree in Business or Hospitality management or related disciplines

Minimum 2 years’ experience in a sales capacity or equivalent work experience including development of account portfolio and business development

Candidates with a proven track record and extended work experience in hotel sales will be considered for the Senior Manager position.

Strong presentation, commercial and communication skills

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Working knowledge of other hotel systems such as Delphi, Opera would be an advantage.
