Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented
Technical Writer
to document IT processes, standards, and internal applications. This role involves creating clear, structured, and user-friendly documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences. The Technical Writer will collaborate closely with subject matter experts, project teams, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality, consistent, and accessible documentation aligned with organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with leadership, project teams, and end users to identify documentation requirements.
Analyze IT projects and user needs to determine appropriate documentation formats, scope, and delivery methods.
Gather, interpret, and validate technical information through stakeholder interviews and research.
Create, edit, and maintain documentation such as:
SOPs and standards
User guides and manuals
Technical specifications
Training materials
Policies, proposals, and forms
Tailor content to suit technical and non-technical audiences.
Develop visual aids (flowcharts, diagrams, charts) to enhance understanding.
Ensure documentation accuracy, consistency, and alignment with system updates.
Establish and maintain documentation standards, templates, and best practices.
Review and edit content created by others for clarity and quality.
Recommend improvements to documentation tools, processes, and workflows.
Provide guidance/training on documentation standards where required.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Technical Writing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 2 years of professional technical writing experience.
Preferred Qualifications
4+ years of technical writing experience.
Experience documenting SOPs, technical processes, and software instructions.
Familiarity with topic-based writing methodologies (e.g., Information Mapping).
Knowledge of documentation standards such as the Microsoft Writing Style Guide.
Strong ability to translate complex technical content into user-friendly language.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint).
Expertise in document formatting, templates, and structured writing techniques.
