IDR is seeking a

Technical Writer

to join one of our top clients for an on-site opportunity in Lawrenceville, GA. This role involves documenting the IT department's processes, standards, and internal applications, with a focus on creating clear, accessible, and accurate technical documentation for a variety of audiences within a government jurisdiction.

Position Overview for the Technical Writer:

Document the Gwinnett County IT department's processes, standards, and internal applications, developing supporting materials such as strategies, plans, flowcharts, job aids, and product instructions.
Collaborate with subject matter experts, project teams, and stakeholders to gather technical information and ensure accuracy and clarity in documentation.
Analyze requirements to determine appropriate documentation formats, scope, and delivery methods suited for both technical and non-technical users.
Create diagrams, flowcharts, charts, and visual aids to enhance understanding of complex systems and procedures.
Maintain and update documentation to reflect system and process changes, ensuring consistency and adherence to organizational standards.
Requirements for the Technical Writer:

Two (2) years of professional technical writing experience.
Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Technical Writing, or a related field or equivalent professional experience.
Proven ability to produce clear, concise documentation for varied audiences, including SOPs, standards, user guides, and technical specifications.
Experience following best-practice technical writing principles such as those outlined in the Microsoft Writing Style Guide.
Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and grammatical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
