Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary - Part-time staff position reports to the Director of Library and is advised by the Coordinator of AV Services. This person will need to demonstrate evidence of a work ethic that includes flexibility and willingness to be trained; be open-minded, fair, and able to see multiple perspectives. Facilitator will work in closed spaces for lengths of time, although some movement across campus may be required.

Minimum Qualifications - High School Diploma. Ability to multi-task and work in small space. Some office work experience. Ability to interact professionally with faculty, staff, students, and community. Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Willingness to be coached in NCIH (North Carolina Information Highway) or other video-conferencing platforms. Excellent technology skills.
Preferred Qualifications - Associate Degree 1-2 years experience in camera/AV work Classroom familiarity
Essential Duties - Part-time position scheduled to work up to 25 hours per week for the academic year. This position reports to the Director of the Library and will perform a variety of technical duties related to the operation of NCIH broadcast classes. Essential duties/functions include but are not limited to the following:
Facilitate video conferencing by setting up, using, controlling, and participating in NCIH classroom sessions.
Operate video-conferencing equipment and other equipment associated with distance education classroom sites.
Assist with managing tasks associated with video operations such as: pre-session activities prior to and during network time, on-air session responsibilities, and after-session debriefing.
Assist with providing all necessary records and information needed to troubleshoot technical problems.
Maintain stationary position, sitting or standing, for extended periods of time.
Occasionally traverse the NCIH control room and/or classrooms to provide instructional support.
Occasionally lift, move, transport, install, or remove items weighing up to 30 pounds.
Maintain regular and consistent on-site attendance for operation of NCIH equipment.
Initiate and answer telephone calls and video conference calls.
Follow instructions and stay focused on task. Cross-train in library as needed depending on NCIH scheduling.
Fulfill other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
FLSA - Non-Exempt
Estimated Hours per Week - 18-25 on campus hours
Range - Based on the College's salary plan and commensurate with education and relevant work experience
