Summary

The Marketing Manager will be responsible for conceptualizing, directing, and implementing all aspects of a strategic marketing plan for a regional shopping center that is aligned with the property’s business goals and long‑term vision, with the results of increased center foot traffic, sales productivity, and retention. Positively position the center and the Company in the marketplace and shopping center industry. Responsible for effectively communicating with consumers through appropriate communication channels. Working cooperatively and collaboratively with General Manager and the Corporate Marketing Team to produce excellence in marketing quality and performance.

Social Media

Full understanding of current social media trends, daily management of handles, best practices, and differences between platforms.

Style

Follow portfolio guidance on Brand Image – look and feel for graphics/videos and overall social media account appearance.

Use content creation tools such as Canva, iMovie, Clips, and Adobe SparkPost.

Maintain Brand Voice – the personality behind the mall, including post/story copy, comments, and replies.

Foundation

Know when to post on all social media channels.

Follow partner social media accounts and tag them when promoting.

Update property information on Facebook and Instagram.

Manage direct messages from shoppers or tenants promptly.

Strategically choose tenants to promote.

Understand onsite event activations and everything involved.

Marketing Plans

Develop an annual marketing plan aligned with budget and portfolio guidelines.

Plan to keep the marketing plan fluid throughout the year.

Events

Develop and implement strategic center events and activations to increase traffic, sales, social media, and awareness.

Plan, coordinate, and execute community relations events.

Analyze community wants and needs for event relevance.

Integrate event plan with social media.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams for larger events.

Prepare, review, and analyze the annual budget in conjunction with the General Manager, manage reforecast, ensure budgets align with events.

Review and analyze social media analytics to shape future content.

Create well thought out E‑Blast and SMS communication messages on weekly/bi‑weekly basis.

Plan and execute other required media such as radio and digital advertisement.

Update and communicate property hours, tenant updates, job postings, and events.

Develop and manage an annual publicity plan: release approved press releases, handle media inquiries per SREG policy.

Establish and maintain tenant relationships: advise on sales productivity, involve tenants in marketing plan, liaison for tenant events and promotions, ensure exposure via mall’s social media network programs.

Build community partnerships to enhance center awareness and traffic.

Understand market area competition and retail destination; provide knowledge for leasing representatives.

Understand tenant sales; track macro and micro trends.

Offer advertising solutions to tenants: RMU displays, mall signage, social media promotions, event partnership.

Qualification Requirements

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) preferably in marketing from a four‑year college or university; minimum Associates degree in marketing

Three years related marketing experience in a relevant field

Knowledge/Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Intermediate to excellent math skills and analytical ability

Ability to work in a team‑oriented environment

Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, meeting frequent deadlines

Demonstrated organizational skills

Intermediate to expert ability in using Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and other software programs

Intermediate to expert ability in using various social media platforms

Intermediate ability in using website content management systems
