General Responsibilities:
Assist students as directed by the classroom instructor and help make the classroom a challenging, safe and stimulating learning environment. This position is shared across Meridian, Mary Ellen Henderson, and Oak Street. Band paraprofessional Monday - Friday before school at Oak Street, and shared across the secondary campus during the school day.

Duties:
Assist with rehearsals and sectionals during class time
Support students in small group learning
Support band directors in planning and executing performances

Program notes
Setting up auditorium space
Copies of music, slideshows, etc.

Education and Experience:

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and some experience working with children
Experience in an educational setting and/or prior teaching/instructional experience preferred
Background in band/instrumental teaching preferred
Physical Requirements:

Sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls.
Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to: a personal computer, calculator, copier, fax machine and projection and video devices.
Ability to engage in significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, or repetitive motions.

Salary Information:
Based on experience. Hourly rate range $18.68 - $24.05
