Description:
My Good Brain (MGB) is a 501(c)(3) arts nonprofit dedicated to youth mental wellness through art and play. The Graphic Designer Volunteer supports My Good Brain by helping create visual materials across teams, including Social Media, Community Outreach, Sunday Art Club, Research & Education, Podcast, and other MGB projects. This role provides extra design support for visual materials, last-minute requests, and projects that need stronger design support.
Responsibilities may include:
Designing social media graphics, flyers, event banners, and promotional materials when needed
Creating workshop presentations, slides, handouts, or outreach materials when needed
Supporting infographics, booklet/toolkit layouts, and educational visual materials
Preparing materials for events, campaigns, programs, and digital platforms when assigned
Following MGB’s branding, accessibility, and design guidelines
Supporting last-minute or priority design requests when available
Communicating consistently through Slack and Asana
Preferred qualifications:
Experience with Canva, Adobe Express, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Google Slides, or similar tools
Interest in graphic design, visual communication, marketing, nonprofit communications, or creative outreach
Basic understanding of layout, hierarchy, readability, and accessibility
Reliable communication, consistent availability, and willingness to receive feedback
Prior graphic design or visual content experience is preferred
Applicants should be prepared to submit a sample of previous work, such as a flyer, social media graphic, presentation, infographic, booklet layout, or portfolio link
Time Commitment / Expectations:
Volunteers should be able to provide design support during their volunteer term and communicate availability for assigned or quick-turnaround tasks. This role is remote, but volunteers are expected to check Slack and Asana regularly, attend required team/monthly meetings, and communicate in advance if unavailable.
