Video/Audio Editor Volunteer - Mental Health

Description:
My Good Brain (MGB) is a 501(c)(3) arts nonprofit dedicated to youth mental wellness through art and play. The Video/Audio Editor Volunteer supports My Good Brain’s creative and digital content by helping edit video and audio materials across teams, including Sunday Art Club, Social Media, Podcast, and other MGB projects. This role provides extra creative support during high-volume periods, last-minute requests, or when teams need additional editing help.
Responsibilities may include:
Editing short-form videos, reels, clips, stories, and promotional videos
Editing long-form videos for programs such as Sunday Art Club
Editing podcast audio, including voice levels, background noise, pauses, and intro/outro music
Adding captions, subtitles, text overlays, or basic visual elements
Formatting videos for Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, or other platforms
Supporting last-minute or priority editing requests when available
Communicating consistently through Slack and Asana
Preferred qualifications:
Experience with Canva, CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, iMovie, Audacity, Riverside, or similar tools
Interest in mental health awareness, youth mental wellness, nonprofit storytelling, social media, podcasting, videography, or media arts
Reliable communication, consistent availability, and the ability to meet turnaround times
Willingness to receive feedback and support multiple teams as needed
Prior video/audio editing experience is preferred
Applicants should be prepared to submit a sample of previous work, such as a video, podcast/audio sample, Reel/TikTok, or portfolio link
Time Commitment / Expectations:
Volunteers should be able to provide editing support during their volunteer term and communicate their availability for assigned or quick-turnaround tasks. This role is remote, but volunteers are expected to check Slack and Asana regularly, attend required team/monthly meetings, and communicate in advance if unavailable.
