We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Account Executive to join our growing team! If you love finding new business opportunities and managing relationships with existing clients, this is the job for you!
You will be directly responsible for the maintenance and expansion of our Specialty business. In this role, you will create business plans, organize client meetings, develop sales and marketing strategies to find new potential business and establish best practices across the board.
Job responsibilities
Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Establish targets and strategies to drive business growth and meet division sales goals, managing performance to align with these expectations.
Collaborate with the planning team, Management, the Head of Women’s and Retail/Business Dev. Manager to optimize stock levels, aiming to exceed sales targets while minimizing liability.
Implement strategies to recover from declining accounts and lost sales in the East Coast.
Support total Specialty business with insights on growth opportunity
Plan travel to see specialty stores as the business warrants
Work with Retail/Business Dev. Manager on in-store events and selling days to support growth of specialty business
Work closely with Head of Women’s and Retail/Sales Manager to identify areas of opportunity and areas of growth in the specialty business nationwide.
Plan and coordinate all aspects of trade shows for the division to ensure maximum ROI.
Actively track pending orders to meet monthly shipping targets.
Conduct research on customers, market trends, and competitor activity, providing insights to the leadership team.
Work closely with the Creative and Marketing teams to ensure the division receives all necessary materials according to the seasonal calendar, including product images.
Maintain key customer relationships and engage in closing strategic opportunities.
Prepare reports in consistent formats across divisions that adhere to company standards.
Analyze seasonal business performance by tracking sales data to identify opportunities for improving assortments and sell-through, including strategies for recuts and excess stock.
Compile seasonal SKU projections and submit proposed cuts for approval to the Director of Planning and Merchandising.
Account Management
Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve and exceed annual revenue targets within the Midwest territory.
Expand distribution by identifying and securing new business opportunities with specialty boutiques, department stores, and regional retailers.
Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer performance to inform territory planning.
Maintain and grow relationships with existing accounts while ensuring exceptional service and support.
Conduct regular business reviews with key accounts to assess performance and identify opportunities for expansion.
Collaborate with retail partners on merchandising, visual presentation, and promotional strategies that align with DL1961 brand standards.
Present DL1961 product lines—including seasonal collections, key styles, and trend insights—to buyers, store teams, and internal stakeholders.
Provide product training and brand education to retail partners to drive sell-through.
Independently manage accounts within your territory and key accounts.
Oversee the entire sales process from start to finish, ensuring that sales targets are met and exceeded (processing orders, resolving payment issues, and ensuring timely deliveries).
Focus on growing existing accounts while actively seeking new A Tier business opportunities.
Independently plan road trips and store visits that contribute to account growth.
Partner with the Retail Team to ensure key doors align with the brand and meet sales targets.
Provide support for NuORDER as needed.
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor's Degree.
3 - 5 years as an Account Executive within the denim industry.
Extensive knowledge of global sales, operations, and logistics.
Active network of global direct sales channels.
Deep understanding of region‑specific needs and points of differentiation.
Proficiency with Retail Math and strong analytical skills.
Strong Interpersonal and Communication skills.
70% Travel Required.
