Social Media and Content Volunteer

We are seeking a creative and dependable Social Media Specialist Volunteer to support our mission of inspiring health and strengthening community. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys storytelling, design, and digital engagement and wants to use those skills to uplift community wellness. You will help share our events, programs, resources, and community impact across our social platforms to increase visibility and engagement.
This role requires someone who can work independently, create consistent content, and commit weekly time to helping us grow our online presence.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and support a social media strategy that promotes wellness education, community events, volunteer recruitment, and outreach
Create engaging visual and written content including graphics, photos, short videos, stories, and captions
Monitor social media messages, respond to inquiries when appropriate, and share updates in a timely manner
Maintain consistent brand tone and style across all platforms
Track engagement metrics and suggest ways to improve reach
Promote upcoming workshops, wellness initiatives, sponsorship events, and community programs
Collaborate with leadership when needed to ensure accurate messaging
Ensure compliance with nonprofit content standards and privacy guidelines
Qualifications
Experience managing social media pages for personal or professional use
Strong writing and digital storytelling skills
Basic photo and video editing skills using Canva, mobile apps, or desktop tools
Ability to work independently and meet weekly posting expectations
Creative eye for branding, aesthetics, and community centered messaging
Passion for wellness, community outreach, and nonprofit impact
Reliable, organized, and comfortable communicating with diverse audiences
Schedule
Flexible and mostly remote. Occasional attendance at community events may be helpful to capture content, but not required.
