Our Technical Publications Engineer has a passion in all they create, creating clear, concise and informative technical documentation. You will be transforming complex technical information into easily understandable materials for both internal and external global stakeholders.
Generation and delivery of Technical Publications documents to customers, including Component Maintenance Manual (CMM’s), Service bulletins, Service lists
Point of contact for the customers and authorities for all technical documentation queries
Manage publishing software tools required by the business
Co-ordinate the compilation and publishing of manufacturing instructions if required
In your role as our Technical Publications Engineer, you will:
Author and publish documentation to high standards that serve the customer’s needs to service and maintain our seating products
Work with a CAD/PLM system to manipulate design data/drawings and guidance materials to produce good quality and compliant documentation
Ensure existing CMM’s are maintained, revision controlled and communicated with our customers in a timely manner
Take responsibility of progress of technical publications documentations against project plan(s) to ensure documentations are available when expected and required by the customer
Build strong relationships across engineering, production, quality assurance, customers, suppliers, aircraft manufacturers, and external DOA organizations
About you
To be a successful candidate for this role we are looking for the below demonstratable skillsets and attributes:
An engineering degree/Technical qualification/HND or HNC
Previous experience of working in a technical role and/or support function ideally with a sound knowledge of CMMs, SB’s and SL’s
Experience of authoring engineering documentation and a solid understanding of English
Must have a good knowledge of publishing software and tools
Must have used CAD images to aid authoring of publications
Background in aerospace, automotive, or similar manufacturing environments
Experience working within aircraft cabin interiors or seating is beneficial but not essential
Personal skills / attributes:
Has a keen eye for detail
Ensures accuracy in their work
A passion for engineering and design
Please kindly note, if Reading based occasional travel to our Hingham site will be required.
