Purpose
Responsible for advancing Messenger International’s vision by cultivating meaningful, trust-based relationships with major and mid-level donors, ensuring they are well-informed, engaged, and connected to the mission and impact of the ministry.
Primary Outcomes
Maintains strong donor retention within assigned mid-level portfolio as measured by renewal rate and consistent engagement
Executes structured donor engagement plans resulting in timely and meaningful touchpoints
Identifies and qualifies donors for deeper engagement and potential advancement to major gift portfolios
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage and nurture a portfolio primarily consisting of mid-level donors and qualified partners
Execute established engagement plans to strengthen donor connection and long-term involvement
Conduct donor interactions through virtual meetings, phone calls, and written communications to build meaningful relationships
Clearly communicate ministry vision, initiatives, and impact stories
Invite financial partnership in alignment with approved strategies and campaign priorities
Provide consistent stewardship including gratitude communication, impact reporting, and timely follow-up
Identify donors with capacity and interest for increased engagement and collaborate with senior team members for advancement strategy
Maintain accurate and timely donor records in CRM systems, including contact reports and next steps
Support data hygiene and portfolio review processes
Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing and finance to ensure donor communications are accurate and timely
Represent Messenger International with professionalism and warmth in all donor interactions
Participate in occasional in-person donor meetings as needed
Other related work, as assigned
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, communications, ministry, or related field preferred
1–3 years of experience in fundraising, customer relationship management, sales, ministry partnership, or business development required
Experience working with CRM systems preferred
Demonstrated ability to build rapport and maintain ongoing relationships

Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
Ability to work independently in a primarily virtual environment

Work Location
Colorado Springs, CO or Nashville, Tennessee area. Must be able to present evidence of identity and legal right to work in the United States.
Job Type / Schedule
Full-time, 40-hour work week with the potential for occasional overtime. This is a non-exempt position and is subject to overtime pay in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Pay
This role has a salary range of
$22.50 - $26.00 / hour , depending on qualifications and experience.
