Job Description
Primary Purpose
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements
Must have knowledge of assigned curriculum and instructional methods
Lesson planning skills
Lesson presentation skills
Conflict resolution skills
Classroom management skills
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Technology skills preferred
Collaborate with band vertical team
High school marching duties, including traveling to games and contests, summer marching band duties
High school and junior high school band duties
Assist other directors with bands
Before and after school sectionals and lessons
UIL Band Contest participation
Other duties as assigned
Work Conditions
Must be able to monitor and observe student behavior
Must be able to attend after school and night time activities occasionally
Must be able to maintain emotional control in all situations
Must be able to do medium work effort exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
Be able to bend, stoop, and reach fully above head
Possess acute and/or corrected visual and hearing capabilities
Possess good mental health to perform all job requirements
Be average or better in energy, health, and vitality
Possess a high level of mental capability
Regular attendance is an essential function
