Key Responsibilities
Developing and implementing strategic communication plans for agency initiatives, programs, and public outreach efforts.
Writing, editing, and distributing high-quality communication materials including press releases, newsletters, speeches, reports, website content, and digital communications.
Serving as a primary media contact by responding to inquiries, coordinating interviews, and preparing media talking points and Q&A materials.
Managing and growing the Department's social media presence and digital communications efforts.
Ensuring communications are clear, accurate, consistent, ADA compliant, and aligned with the Department's mission and priorities.
Collaborating across divisions to identify and promote agency programs, initiatives, and consumer resources.
Monitoring emerging issues and assisting with communications related to time‑sensitive or high‑visibility matters.
What You'll Bring
Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for a variety of audiences and platforms.
Strong strategic thinking and sound judgment, especially in fast-moving or high-profile situations.
Experience developing communication plans and delivering clear, engaging public messaging.
A collaborative mindset and the ability to build strong working relationships across teams.
Experience with developing digital communications, social media management, and overall content creation.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Public Relations, Marketing, or a closely related field and two (2) years of related professional experience; OR
Associate's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Public Relations, Marketing, or a closely related field and four (4) years of related professional experience.
