The New York Post video team is seeking a savvy
Temp Lead Editor/Post Production Supervisor
(Full-Time Monday-Friday, 3 Month)
well versed in long-form digital formats to help create compelling, shareable news videos. This role will be responsible for executing stories from conception through completion and should have solid experience pitching, researching, reporting and editing journalistic and documentary content. You must be skilled at conducting deep research on various topics. Being able to format long-from content in a compelling structure is key. Must be an idea factory: knowledge and skilled to pitch across a variety of topic areas from national news, tabloid fare and societal trends. Must edit fast and with flourish. Expertise with Adobe Creative Suite a must. (Premiere, Photoshop, and familiarity with After Effects.)
Can-do attitude is key: someone who believes news doesn't have to be boring and who appreciates the odd and unconventional stories as well as important ones. We seek a candidate who is excited about new types of multimedia storytelling and has a track record of creating YouTube videos. Must be aware of the latest formats and trends on YouTube as a distinct form of content (not TV-related.)

Key Responsibilities
Produce and edit long-form digital news and documentary-style video content from concept through final delivery
Pitch original video ideas across news, pop culture, societal trends, and tabloid-driven stories
Conduct in-depth research, reporting, and interviews to develop compelling and accurate storytelling
Script and structure engaging, shareable content optimized for YouTube and digital audiences
Edit high-volume video content quickly using Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere and Photoshop
Collaborate with cross-functional teams while applying strong editorial judgment in a fast-paced newsroom environment
Requirements:
5+ years of experience working with news company
Strong writing skills for storytelling and headlines
Experience creating YouTube video for digital platforms
Background in journalism and the ability to pitch, produce, and script
Ability to locate and interview subjects
Solid editorial judgment
Strong news judgment, good writing skills, knowledge of current events and excellent communication and people skills
Expertise with key productions in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, and familiarity with After Effects.)
This candidate must have a strong aesthetic eye and cinematic tendencies
Must enjoy working collaboratively and accurately in a fast paced but fun environment
Attention to detail a must

Base Pay Range: $1,923/week - $2,307/week
