R. J. Corman Railroad Group LLC. is currently seeking a Graphic Arts Intern to join our team for a 12‑week period in Nicholasville, KY.
Job Description
R.J.Corman Railroad Group serves all seven North American major railroads, many regional and short line railroads, and dozens of rail-related industries. Services include owning and operating nineteen short lines, providing emergency rail services associated with derailments and natural disasters, switching, track construction, track material distribution, signal design/construction, building switching locomotives, and operating a dinner train. This internship is a paid, 40 hr/week, hands‑on program to develop and prepare you for your career aspirations. As an Intern, you will gain relevant business communications experience in a corporate headquarters environment. During this internship, you will be introduced to multiple facets of R.J.Corman and will be assigned a capstone project. You will work closely with managers and team members to apply your knowledge and skills both technically and professionally. You can also expect to have ongoing developmental conversations to ensure maximum growth. Successful interns may be offered the opportunity to participate in R. J. Corman’s Management Trainee Program at the end of the internship.
Assist the Graphic Arts Department with day‑to‑day operations, including printing, cutting, binding, finishing, and preparing materials for internal and external use
Support order fulfillment by organizing, packing, and delivering printed materials and promotional items to internal departments as needed
Participate in short‑term projects based on departmental priorities and production schedules to promote the company brand
Work alongside the Graphic Arts Manager to gain exposure to department workflows, equipment, and production standards
Develop and execute a capstone project focused on creating an inventory tracking system for promotional items, including cataloging and inputting existing inventory data
Maintain organization and accuracy in inventory records and physical storage throughout the internship
Participate in team meetings and day‑to‑day coordination with Graphic Arts and Communications staff
Present the completed capstone project and key takeaways to the management team at the conclusion of the internship
