Help
As a
Audio Visual Information Specialist, GS-1001-7 , your typical work assignments may include the following under supervision:
Set up, operate, inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot digital displays, video conferencing systems, and other professional audio visual equipment to support meetings, trainings, and special events.
Assist with installation, operation and maintenance of upgrades for multimedia classrooms.
Assist with functional and operational test to evaluate quality and performance of video and/or audio reception, production and transmission.
Operate video conferencing bridge and Codec.
Assists in the preparation and development of visual media and presentation material in support of the organization's programs.
Provide customers with guidance and assistance.

A background security investigation will be required for all new hires. Appointment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
GS-1001-07 : 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience includes: assisting with the installation, configuration, and routine maintenance on digital-display systems, TCP/IP-based audiovisual equipment, and multimedia classroom technologies; assisting with functional and operational testing to evaluate the performance and quality of video and audio reception, production, and transmission; and providing support in the preparation, development, or production of visual media products and presentation materials used in organizational programs.

1 full year of graduate level education directly related to the work of the position.
OR
A bachelor's degree and have eligibility under the superior academic achievement provision.
OR
You may qualify with a combination of experience and graduate level education. To combine education and experience, your total qualifying experience is calculated as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level. Then, your education is calculated as a percentage of the education required for the grade level. The two percentages are added together. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify for that grade level.

The probationary or trial period is an extension of the appointment process and therefore requires the agency to determine if continued employment would advance the public interest, meet the organization goals and mission of the agency, and/or otherwise promote the efficiency of the service.
