Job Description
UN Women Indonesia is implementing the project "Empowered Women for Sustainable Peace: Addressing the Peace-Humanitarian Nexus to Enhance Community Resilience in Indonesia" (WE Nexus). The project, funded by KOICA, will run until 31 December 2026 and aims to strengthen community resilience and reduce vulnerabilities in emergency and conflict‑affected areas by addressing the humanitarian‑development‑peace nexus in Indonesia.
Role Overview
We are seeking a part‑time, international consultant for the position of Communication Analyst, reporting to the UN Women Programme Manager for Governance, Peace and Resilience and supervised by the Project Coordination Analyst. The analyst will design, implement, and monitor communication strategies for the HDP and WPS‑focused projects and contribute to UN Women’s visibility and engagement in Indonesia.
Responsibilities
Provide substantive support to the planning and design of external communication and outreach strategies and plans.
Integrate communication and outreach strategies into project communication plans and other initiatives as needed.
Monitor and analyze print and social media, and provide analysis.
Provide technical inputs and develop communication plans for in‑country events and campaigns, in line with UN Women / UN corporate systems.
Develop generic project presentations and standard decks for key stakeholders, including donors, governments, partners, and other relevant stakeholders.
Attend relevant meetings with project key counterparts and coordinate the development and dissemination of communication materials and knowledge products.
Draft briefing materials, press releases and coordinate their dissemination through effective channels.
Identify storylines for publication and articles.
Promote and disseminate corporate communication materials for publications and campaigns.
Coordinate the translation/adaptation/rewriting of information, printing, and dissemination of publications and audio‑visual materials; follow guidelines from HQ and RO.
Provide technical feedback to the development of communication and knowledge products developed by UN Women vendors.
Provide technical assistance in engaging and maintaining media relations in support of the project/programmes.
Coordinate with UN Women Communication Team to build and maintain relationships with media partners
etworks.
Provide support in responding to inquiries for public and UN system information materials.
Lead the planning and implementation of media roundtable discussions, press conferences, and briefing sessions for press, as required.
Draft talking points for project events attended by UN Women senior staff.
Coordinate UN Women web / online presence, including content and maintenance of websites based on corporate requirements.
Coordinate UN Women social media accounts in line with corporate social media policy.
Output and Deadline
The consultant shall submit a monthly report summarizing output, including supporting documents, no later than the 10th of each month for the duration of the consultancy.

Required Qualifications
Education and Certification
Master’s degree (or equivalent) in communications, public relations, journalism or a relevant field is required.
A first‑level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted as a substitute for the advanced degree.
Experience
At least 2 years of professional work experience at national or international level in public relations, communications or advocacy is required.
Demonstrated understanding of gender equality and empowerment of women and girls is required.
Experience working in the UN system in the Asia‑Pacific region, particularly related to Indonesia, is an asset.
Experience in the use of social media and other innovative communication/advocacy channels.
Work experience with KOICA is an advantage.
Languages
Fluency in English is required.
Working knowledge in Korean is desirable.
Working knowledge of another official UN language is an asset.
