The Communications and Advocacy Section supports UN Women's strategic objectives by enhancing brand visibility and demonstrating impact. This role, reporting to the Multimedia Specialist, is crucial for increasing UN Women's standing and awareness among partners, media, and the public through effective communications strategies.
Job purpose: The Communications Analyst (Video Editor) plays a key role in supporting the planning and execution of UN Women's communications and advocacy strategies. The primary purpose of this role is to enhance UN Women's visibility and public awareness by creating engaging video content for various digital platforms. This involves developing, scripting, filming, and editing compelling visual narratives that align with UN Women's brand guidelines and strategic goals, thereby contributing to the organization's mission of promoting gender equality and women's empowerment.
Responsibilities: Develop and script engaging video content for digital platforms, including social media, campaigns, and websites, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines. Film and edit a variety of video formats, such as short-form social videos and explainer videos, and collaborate with external producers for motion graphics and animation. Coordinate the oversight of global video footage by collecting, reviewing, and categorizing materials from various teams, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring proper usage rights. Support the Digital Asset Management System (DAMS) by organizing, tagging, and managing video assets, and train global teams on DAMS workflows and best practices for efficient retrieval and storage.
Education: A Master's degree (or equivalent) in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field is required. Alternatively, a first-level university degree with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted.
Work experience: Requires at least two years of progressive work experience in visual communications and storytelling, with experience in developing visual concepts and working with creative teams. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premier Pro, After Effects, Illustrator) and knowledge of typography, color, and sound correction/production are essential. Experience with gender-related themes and international work is desirable.
