Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and hands-on District Marketing Director to lead marketing efforts for a high-profile, $60M campus dining program. This is a rare opportunity to own the vision, execution, and growth strategy for one of our most complex and visible accounts. If you thrive at the intersection of strategy, creativity, and operational impact, this is your moment.
What You’ll Lead
As the senior marketing leader on campus, you will shape how thousands of students, faculty, and guests experience dining every day.
Strategic Leadership & Growth
Own and execute a comprehensive, annual marketing strategy driving growth across residential dining, retail, and catering programs
Deliver measurable results tied to meal plan sales, retail performance, and guest engagement
Partner with operations, culinary, and client leadership to align marketing with business goals
Guest Experience & Innovation
Leverage social media, digital platforms, surveys, and focus groups to continuously assess guest satisfaction and uncover opportunities
Identify and launch new concepts, service models, and dining innovations that elevate the campus experience
Champion brand standards, merchandising excellence, and storytelling across all dining locations
Campus Engagement & Partnerships
Serve as a key liaison to the university community—collaborating with student groups, residential life, and campus leadership
Promote initiatives tied to sustainability, wellness, and dietary awareness
Build meaningful partnerships that strengthen Chartwells’ presence and impact on campus
Programming & Events
Lead the planning and execution of large-scale campus events, promotions, and engagement programs
Chair and inspire a cross-functional marketing committee of university and Chartwells stakeholders
Drive participation and excitement through creative, student-centric programming
Brand, Communications & Insights
Oversee creation of high-quality marketing collateral (digital, print, social, and experiential)
Ensure consistency of voice, brand identity, and messaging across all channels
Translate guest feedback and performance data into actionable insights and reporting
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field preferred
3+ years of marketing experience (higher education or contract foodservice strongly preferred)
Proven ability to influence and lead across cross-functional teams without direct authority
Strong presentation skills and confidence engaging large, diverse audiences
Expertise in social media strategy, merchandising, and promotion planning
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Data-driven mindset with the ability to connect strategy to results
Why This Role Stands Out
Lead marketing for a flagship, high-revenue campus with executive visibility
Own both strategy and execution—from big-picture planning to on-the-ground activation
Collaborate with innovative leaders shaping the future of campus dining
Make a direct impact on student life and campus culture
