Social Media Specialist

Carefree Capping is looking for a Social Media Specialist (Volunteer) to help us expand our reach and support patients undergoing treatment for Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
We are a nonprofit that subsidizes cold cap therapy to help Hodgkin’s lymphoma patients reduce chemotherapy-related hair loss. Social media plays a huge role in helping patients find our resources, connecting with the cancer community, and growing the support needed to expand our impact.
Role Overview:
We’re looking for a creative, mission-driven volunteer to manage and grow our presence on Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook . This person will help share patient stories, educational content, nonprofit updates, and fundraising campaigns.
What You’ll Do:
Create and schedule engaging posts across Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook
Help develop content ideas (patient stories, educational posts, awareness campaigns, etc.)
Design simple graphics or carousels (Canva or similar tools)
Track engagement metrics and suggest ways to grow our audience
Collaborate with the Carefree Capping team on campaigns and announcements
Ideal Volunteer:
Interested in social media, marketing, communications, or nonprofit work
Comfortable using Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook professionally
Creative, organized, and compassionate about patient-centered work
Experience with Canva or basic design tools is a plus
Time Commitment:
Flexible ~ ideally 1 hour per week or 4 hours per month
