Next Generation Director (Children & Youth)
The Next Generation Director provides spiritual leadership, discipleship and oversight for children and youth ministries (K-12 grade). This role partners with parents, volunteers and church leadership to nurture the children and students in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, consistent with the Baptist Faith and Message (2000) and the beliefs of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
This position begins as part-time and may expand in hours or transition to full-time in the future as the ministry grows and the church is able to support that expansion.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead children and youth in age appropriate biblical teaching and discipleship
- Model a Christ‑centered life consistent with Baptist beliefs, scripture, the Baptist Faith and Message (2000) and the beliefs of Ridgecrest Baptist Church
- Encourage spiritual growth, service, and faith development
Ministry Oversight
- Plan and oversee Sunday and Wednesday children and youth ministries
- Lead or coordinate youth gatherings at least monthly to coordinate with the church calendar
- Select and implement biblically sound curriculum approved by the Pastor and/or church leadership
- Maintain a safe, welcoming and well‑organized ministry environment
- Create and maintain annual budgets for children and youth and administer funds in accordance with church policy
- Coordinate outreach and in‑reach ministry
- Coordinate VBS, Easter events, fall festival, DNow, events away from the church facility and other yearly events as assigned
- Plan, supervise and attend children and youth camps
Volunteer Leadership
- Recruit, train and support volunteers for children and youth ministries
- Schedule volunteers and provide clear communication
- Ensure compliance with church child‑safety policy and background checks
Family & Church Partnership
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding lessons, events and ministry updates
- Partner with parents as the primary disciples of their children
- Work collaboratively with the Pastor, church leadership and church volunteers
- Coordinate, plan and receive advice from youth and children council
Time Commitment
- Includes Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights and additional gatherings as scheduled
- Hours may increase in the future based on ministry growth and church approval
Compensation
- Paid, part‑time position
- Salary commensurate with experience and responsibilities
- Annual review with potential for expanded hours or future full‑time consideration

- Expansion is not guaranteed and would require church approval
Qualifications
- A clear personal faith in Jesus Christ
- Agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message (2000) and the beliefs of Ridgecrest Baptist Church
- Demonstrates a calling to children and youth ministry
- Experience working with children and youth (paid and/or volunteer)
- Strong relational, communication and organizational skills
- Ability to recruit and lead volunteers
- Willingness to complete background screening
- Willingness to join Ridgecrest Baptist Church
- Willingness to have had or to have Baptism by emersion
- A positive and thankful attitude
Accountability
- Spiritually this position is under the supervision of the Pastor
- Evaluated annually by personnel team
- Duties of this position were established by the personnel team; any questions or concerns should be addressed by the personnel chairman
- The children and youth council’s are in place to provide support, advice and assistance as needed
