Temporary Assistant Video Editor – Department of Music, Azusa Pacific University – Azusa, CA.

Overview
Entry‑level Assistant Video Editor under the direction of the Associate Director of the Angeles Worship Initiative will work on a variety of projects for AWI and hone video editing skills. The temporary part‑time position is grant‑funded through Lilly Endowment, Inc. and will continue until the grant cycle ends December 31 2025 unless renewed.

Primary Duties / Essential Functions

Edit video content for social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).

Edit raw footage from AWI events into promotional reels, clips, or podcasts.

Incorporate graphics, music, dialogue, and effects to enhance footage.

Trim segments and assemble video sequences.

Assist the Associate Director with recording AWI Podcast episodes with guest artists.

Collaborate with the Associate Director to deliver a final product that aligns with the AWI vision and APU SCE specifications.

Attend events as required for operational tasks.

Maintain punctual attendance per supervisor’s needs.

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree in a creative field or currently completing one.

Required Experience

Proven video‑editing and post‑production experience.

Training in multimedia and communications.

Proficiency with video‑editing tools such as DaVinci, Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, Lightroom.

Understanding of digital trends and editing principles.

Skills

Ability to follow directions and apply creative improvements.

Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Strong written and verbal communication.

Strong organizational skills and follow‑through.

Knowledge of basic editing principles.

Effective team collaboration and building abilities.

Mental Demands

Operation of camera/recording, audio and lighting equipment.

Ability to lift, pull, push, bend, reach up to 20 lbs.

Climbing stairs multiple times per day.

Office with comfortable temperature.

Technologies

Google Apps, Microsoft Office Word, Excel.

DaVinci, Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, Lightroom.

Compensation

Grade 8 hourly rate: $21.44 to $24.66, adjust based on qualifications and internal equity. APU offers a competitive benefits package.
