We’re looking for a Social-First, Short-Form Video Editor to help us create polished, effective social media video content for green industry brands (landscaping, lawn care, tree service, pest control).

This is a contract role for an editor who can repurpose longer-form content into short-form vertical videos and also create original short-form assets from a bank of existing footage. You’ll work from a creative brief and script direction provided by a Creative Director.
The ideal candidate understands how to make content feel native to social media while still maintaining a professional, brand-appropriate look for the green industry.
Responsibilities
Create new short-form videos from a bank of existing footage
Follow creative briefs, script direction, and brand guidance to produce finished assets
Edit primarily for Instagram and Facebook Reels and LinkedIn vertical video
Produce videos in the 30–60 second range
Add background music, animated on-screen captions, motion text effects, and light motion graphics
Use tasteful, modern transitions that feel social-media-forward while remaining appropriate for landscaping and green industry brands
Organize footage, project files, and deliverables efficiently
Deliver final assets accurately and on time
Handle revisions as requested by the Creative Director or the client
Qualifications
English as a primary language and based in the United States
2+ years of experience editing short-form social media video content
Strong understanding of pacing, hooks, retention, and platform-friendly editing
Experience editing both talking-head content and caption-style social videos
Proficiency in DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or an equivalent professional NLE
Comfortable using AI tools and workflows, including platforms such as Descript and ChatGPT
Strong attention to detail and a high level of organization
Ability to consistently meet deadlines and manage deliverables across multiple client accounts
Ability to take direction well and execute creative concepts without heavy oversight
Preferred Experience
Agency or marketing experience is a plus
Experience managing edits across multiple brands or client accounts is a plus
A working understanding of the green industry is REQUIRED. This person should be familiar with basic service and equipment terminology and be able to recognize the difference between common offerings in the space.
For example, they should understand the difference between:
An aerator and a mower
Liquid fertilizer treatments and pest control treatments
The types of visuals, messaging, and tone that fit landscaping, lawn care, and outdoor living brands
Work Volume and Compensation
This is an ongoing contract role
Compensation is $75 per reel (including revisions)
Most videos will fall within the 30–60 second range
We typically produce 2–4 videos per month per client across 8–10 active clients, so there is steady volume for the right person
