UGP is seeking a dynamic Associate Sales Manager who thrives in a fast‑paced environment.
The
Associate Sales Manager
will be a member of the Sales team, reporting to the Sales Manager or Regional Sales Manager.
This position is classified as in‑person, hourly non‑exempt. The schedule will be determined and may vary based on the needs of the business.
Possible future path for career advancement: Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager, National Sales Manager.
Specific responsibilities
Promote UGP’s core values; show up, work hard, be respectful and honest, strive for excellence, do what you say and promote DEI.
Convert quotes to leads and close sales.
Communicate sales information to the Sales Manager in a timely manner.
Adhere to the Digital Code of Conduct.
Provide constructive feedback to affect change and be part of the improvement process.
Actively participate in 1‑on‑1 weekly meetings with the Sales Manager.
Assist in coverage when other UGP team members are unavailable—primarily email and phone coverage, and possibly travel to another UGP location.
Ensure customers have the best experience and outcome possible.
Engage with local businesses and community members; attend local events such as Downtown Association meetings, networking groups, and chamber of commerce meetings.
Communicate with customers via phone, email, or in person to determine their needs, focusing on what the customer prefers.
Propose ideas for sales and marketing tools and strategies to the Sales Manager.
Work with the Sales Manager to engage customers and drive sales at events and local opportunities.
Use social media to promote the specific store location and UGP overall.
How will we measure success?
Metrics on the Sales L10 Scorecard vs. goal as set by the Sales Team.
Year‑over‑year increase in custom sales.
Customer feedback rating of at least 90%.
Requirements
Candidates should have a degree from a 4‑year college or university.
Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
Previous sales experience.
Very strong typing speed and accuracy.
Highly advanced organizational skills.
Proficient with Gmail and its applications, cloud computing sites, and social media.
Prior management experience preferred.
