Barrett Honors College at the Downtown campus is seeking a dynamic Program Coordinator who thrives in a collaborative environment and is excited to design and implement innovative, high-impact student engagement experiences. This position plays a key role in building a vibrant honors community by encouraging students to get involved, make connections, and discover their place at Barrett Downtown outside the classroom.
From welcoming newly admitted students at Barrett Downtown Welcome Programs to coordinating signature programs and closing the academic year with the Gold Standard Awards ceremony, the Program Coordinator creates events that foster belonging and shape the Barrett Downtown community.

This position reports to Barrett Student Services Leadership and supports college initiatives, special projects, and strategic objectives that elevate the overall honors student journey.
Essential Duties:
Create, coordinate, and implement engaging student events for on-campus and off-campus students, including wellness, academic enrichment, community service, social activities, and Barrett signature events
Supervise, train, and evaluate student workers, including hiring, onboarding, task delegation, performance development, and mentorship
Develop and execute effective marketing and outreach strategies to increase event visibility, encourage student participation, and enhance community connectedness
Mentor and cultivate student leaders, helping them develop confidence, professionalism, and leadership skills
Provide consistent reports and updates to leadership regarding program success, student engagement trends, and opportunities for enhancement
Forecast annual budget needs, manage purchasing of goods and services, monitor expenditures, and ensure alignment with approved budget limits to maintain fiscal compliance
Participate in college committees and signature college events as needed
Work with Student Organizations to help support their purchasing needs and support the Student Organizations Advisors
Desired Qualifications:
Evidence of a Bachelor's Degree
Experience working at an institution of higher education
Experience working with honors programs or academically high-achieving college students
Experience with creating, planning, and implementing student events
Experience supervising and developing student and/or professional staff
Experience in mentoring, training and supporting student leaders
Experience in managing multiple projects with accuracy and attention to detail
Experience working with a marketing team to design material for events
Evidence of effective verbal and written communication skills
Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students, staff, and faculty
Ability to creatively strategize and be innovative in solving problems and addressing student needs
Experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Working Environment:
Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work
Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds
Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts
Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform essential functions.
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00PM
Some nights and weekends are required to perform duties
Position Salary: $45,000 per year
