The Logos Student Newspaper Assistant Editor
Position Summary
The The Logos Student Newspaper Assistant Editor is the secondary person in charge of writing, editing, designing The Logos, a student-run newspaper. The Logos Student Newsletter Assistant Editor reports to Faculty Advisor for The Logos. This can be work study or student employment.

Essential Functions

Cover campus assignments.

Write stories.

Take photographs.

Lay out pages.

Monitor telephone (answer, take messages, etc.).

General clerical duties.

Distribute newspapers.

Promote newspaper.

Update interactive website.

Other duties as assigned by Logos student editors and/or adviser (supervisor).

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated knowledge and/or skill in writing, editing, design, and photography.

Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.

Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Required Education

Be a full-time UIW student during the regular academic year.

Have a minimum GPA of 2.5, with a 3.0 in the major discipline.

Be at least a sophomore (exceptions may be granted at the discretion of the hiring committee).

Required Work Experience

No required work experience necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference given to students with previous high school or college journalistic experience (newspaper, yearbook, magazine, anthology, broadcasting class, website, etc.).

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations

None.

Work Hours
Work hours flexible depending on student’s academic and extracurricular schedules.

Salary
$12.25/hr
