Video Management System Administrator
Optomi, in partnership with a leading enterprise utilities organization, is seeking a Video Management System Administrator to support and administer enterprise-scale physical security and surveillance environments. This individual will be responsible for the deployment, configuration, integration, and ongoing administration of Avigilon ACC video management systems and IP-based camera infrastructure across a rapidly growing enterprise environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a systems administrator with experience supporting physical security technologies, IP video systems, and enterprise infrastructure in a highly visible and mission-critical environment.

What the Right Candidate Will Have:
Experience operating within a corporate enterprise environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Windows 11
Strong Microsoft Office experience, especially Excel and Word
Experience with Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Teams
Proficiency with Remote Desktop administration
Knowledge of Active Directory, Azure AD, and Office 365
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Ability to create technical documentation and operational procedures
Preferred Experience & Skills:
Understanding of TCP/IP networking and LAN/WAN fundamentals
Experience with PoE switch configuration, VLANs, and QoS for video traffic
Experience configuring and supporting Avigilon and/or Axis IP cameras
Knowledge of Avigilon ACC 7 architecture and deployment best practices
Familiarity with Axis Camera Station or Axis device configurations
Experience with NVR configuration, RAID, and storage provisioning
Understanding of H.264/H.265 encoding, bitrate management, and storage optimization
Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices within VMS environments
Experience supporting integrations with access control, intercoms, alarms, or SIP/IP audio systems
Familiarity with Category cable and fiber optic standards
Responsibilities:
Deploy, configure, and administer Avigilon ACC 7/8 NVR servers and client environments
Install, configure, and maintain Avigilon and Axis IP cameras
Monitor system health, storage allocation, and performance across multiple sites and servers
Configure recording rules, analytics, alarms, and video alerting systems
Maintain Active Directory integrations, user permissions, and access controls
Troubleshoot camera, server, storage, and network-related video issues
Support video evidence exports, chain of custody documentation, and audit requests
Collaborate with IT, Security, and third-party vendors on integrations and upgrades
Maintain deployment documentation, SOPs, and technical inventories
Ensure compliance with enterprise cybersecurity standards and secure remote access practices
