Description
Develop and implement community‑based plans for members to increase employability and community skills. Coordinate daily schedule assignments and research new community activities and assist in developing a job skills training program. Responsible for providing reliable and courteous transportation to individuals with safety as a top priority; provide a communication link between individuals and staff, operate and maintain assigned vehicles; and maintain vehicle and individual's records.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Affirming Individual Rights and Dignity including, but not limited to:

Ensuring that individuals are treated with dignity and respect in accordance with Minute Man's Human Rights Policy and regulations.

Assisting individuals with access to the community

Supporting their exploration of employment options

Helping them build positive relationships with employers and coworkers

Ensuring they are productive and contributing employees

Assist individuals in maintaining privacy and confidentiality

As mandated reporters, staff must understand DPPC guidelines and appropriately utilize the reporting process

Filing incident reports and writing notes in the communication log

Day to Day Duties (not limited to)

Transporting individuals to homes, businesses, and agency sites

Immediately reporting unsafe incidents or unsafe working conditions when they occur to your supervisor

Completing assigned work schedules and projects routinely and document completion as necessary

Demonstrating proper attendance

Responding appropriately to emergency situations, following agency policies and procedures

Assisting in the orientation and training of new staff members

Consistently working in a positive and cooperative manner with fellow staff members

Seeking out opportunities to help rather than waiting to be asked

Considering the impact of your actions on staff members throughout the organization

Qualifications

Valid drivers' license and an acceptable driving record

Obtain, and maintain, certification in First Aid, CPR, and Drivers' Safety and other mandated trainings

Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of individuals verbally

Must be able to work independently while demonstrating effective time management, organizational, and planning skills

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree and/or equivalence in education experience working with individuals with disabilities
