Overview

We are looking for a leader who can steer the company toward new heights of success, driving strategic initiatives and leading a talented team of professionals. The Media Director is a senior strategic leader responsible for defining and executing the paid media strategy across all channels to drive acquisition growth, brand impact, and business performance.

Job Responsibilities

  • Define and lead full-funnel paid media strategy, translating business and growth objectives into scalable plans and measurable outcomes.
  • Steward T-Mobile's $1B+ paid media investment with strong financial discipline, using MMM and advanced data sets to drive continuous improvement in efficiency, performance, and ROI.
  • Determine channel roles, investment strategies, and optimization approaches that balance upper-funnel brand building with lower-funnel performance outcomes in support of enterprise growth objectives.
  • Establish the integrated media strategy across brand, postpaid, and broadband businesses.
  • Decide how media investments are allocated, reallocated, and optimized across channels, campaigns, and initiatives based on performance, market dynamics, and business priorities.
  • Evaluate and raise material investment shifts, performance risk, or strategic changes to executive leadership with data‑backed recommendations.
  • Serve as a senior thought leader on performance marketing trends, platform innovation, privacy‑safe measurement, and emerging media opportunities.
  • Work upstream with Marketing, Analytics, Finance, Operations, and agency partners to ensure media strategies are tightly aligned with enterprise priorities.
  • Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing media organization, fostering accountability, growth, and excellence rooted in T‑Mobile's Values in Action.
  • Develop and activate innovative, creative paid media solutions aligned with evolving consumer consumption habits, emerging platforms, and cultural trends.

Education and Work Experience

  • 12+ years media management experience within consumer/B2B products or retail industry (experience in media planning at an advertising agency highly recommended).
  • Strong experience in digital planning and activation across multiple platforms and disciplines.
  • Ability to deliver clear, compelling strategies and performance updates; exudes executive presence and effectiveness at influencing senior leaders and direct reports.
  • Ability to translate numbers and data into actionable plans, explaining decision making through data.
  • Established history of positive results and strong partnership managing an agency.
  • Creates influence among senior leaders with a confident and strategic POV; dedicated to coaching and growing a team of best‑in‑class professionals; fosters a culture rooted in TMUS Values in Action.
  • Ability to guide team on leveraging 1,000+ data inputs to drive media recommendations and optimizations. Experienced with Marketing Mix Models and Attribution Models and how media decisions can deliver on business and marketing needs.
  • Identifies and briefs the team to act on areas of opportunity within Marketing, Media, and Operations to deliver better output and outcomes.
  • Success building a team with clear roles and responsibilities, supporting and coaching them in their respective areas.
  • Lead multiple work streams and teams simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field; Master’s preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

Base Pay Range: $151,000 – $204,200. Corporate Bonus Target: 25%. The starting pay within this range depends on qualifications and experience. Many Corporate employees are eligible for a year‑end bonus based on company and/or individual performance.
