The New York Post video team is seeking a seasoned

Temp Lead Editor / Post Production Supervisor

to assist in creating compelling long‑form digital news videos. This full‑time role (Monday‑Friday, 3 month contract with potential conversion) requires experience pitching, researching, reporting, interviewing, and editing video content for platforms such as YouTube.

Key Responsibilities

Produce and edit long‑form digital news and documentary‑style video from concept through final delivery.

Pitch original video ideas across news, pop culture, societal trends, and tabloid stories.

Conduct in‑depth research, reporting, and interviews to develop compelling and accurate storytelling.

Script and structure engaging, shareable content optimized for YouTube and digital audiences.

Use Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects) to edit high‑volume video content quickly.

Collaborate across teams while applying strong editorial judgment in a fast‑paced newsroom.

Requirements

5+ years of experience at a news organization.

Strong writing skills for storytelling and headlines.

Experience creating YouTube videos for digital platforms.

Background in journalism and ability to pitch, produce, and script.

Ability to locate and interview subjects.

Solid editorial and news judgment.

Excellent communication and people skills.

Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects).

Aesthetic eye and cinematic tendencies.

Team orientation and attention to detail.

Compensation and Benefits
Base pay range: $1,923/week – $2,307/week. Benefits eligibility begins upon conversion to full‑time employment. The role may offer a comprehensive benefits package covering health, retirement, wellbeing, and optional benefits.
