Job Title Temp Lead Editor / Post Production Supervisor (Full‑Time, Monday‑Friday, 3‑Month Temporary, with potential conversion to full‑time)
Overview The NewYorkPost Video Team is seeking a savvy editor with experience in long‑form digital formats to produce news, pop‑culture, and documentary‑style videos. The role covers story concept, pitch, research, interview, script, editing and final delivery using the Adobe Creative Suite.
Key Responsibilities Produce and edit long‑form digital news and documentary‑style video content from concept through final delivery.
Pitch original video ideas across news, pop culture, societal trends, and tabloid‑driven stories.
Conduct in‑depth research, reporting, and interviews to develop compelling and accurate storytelling.
Script and structure engaging, shareable content optimized for YouTube and digital audiences.
Edit high‑volume video content quickly using Premiere, Photoshop, and AfterEffects.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams while applying strong editorial judgment in a fast‑paced newsroom environment.
Requirements 5+ years of experience working with a news organization.
Strong writing skills for storytelling and headlines.
Experience creating YouTube videos for digital platforms.
Background in journalism with the ability to pitch, produce, and script.
Ability to locate and interview subjects.
Solid editorial judgment and excellent communication and people skills.
Expertise with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, AfterEffects).
Strong aesthetic eye and cinematic tendencies.
Enjoy working collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment with attention to detail.

Additional Information The position follows a hybrid work model, requiring on‑site presence in the NewYork metro area three days per week. This is a temporary engagement facilitated through a third‑party vendor; employment and payroll will be managed by the vendor. The role will start as temporary with the intent to convert to a full‑time, regular role based on performance and business needs. Benefits eligibility begins upon conversion to full‑time employment.
Compensation Base Pay Range: $1,923/week – $2,307/week. Payment and bonus eligibility may vary based on individual contributions.
