Overview
The AV field engineer is responsible for successfully configuring, deploying, and completing all commissioning tasks required for acceptance walkthrough, training, and signoff of the AV system. This position requires advanced trouble shooting skills and a solid understanding of audio-visual system operation and design. A professional approach and communication skills are required for success.

The role can require up to 40% travel out of state.

Responsibilities
Design Review

Works with design team to ensure systems will work as designed.

Attend design and scope review meetings to provide feedback

Coordinate with project teammates on quality assurance documentation

Coordinate with project teammates on network documentation

Generate and review request for information (RFI’s)

In-House Quality Assurance

Plan, organize and set up a full system “mock‑up”

Test full system functionality

Documenting redlines and quality assurance paperwork

Field Commissioning

Perform site inspection for installation quality

Run through system operation and troubleshoot issues

Work with project foreman to address any installation issues during commissioning

Coordinate with AV programmer on updates or revisions needed

Communicate with project manager on outstanding issues, punch list items and client needs

System Walkthrough and Acceptance

Complete commissioning checklist paperwork

Walk through systems with end user and/or consultants

Document and address punch list items

Training and Closeout

Perform on-site end user training for all systems

Provide technical training for end user technical team

Review all close out documentation including as‑built drawings and user guides

Assist project management team with presenting and obtaining project signoff

Teamwork and Leadership

Teamwork and collaboration-based approach

Accountability and ownership of responsibilities

Clear communication

Self‑motivated and always looking to grow

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Experience & Education

HS Degree required

Technical School Certification or Community College (preferred)

Years of Experience: 5+ years of AV installation, commissioning, and service

Supplemental Requirements

Superior Problem‑Solving Skills

Knowledge in Crestron, AMX, Extron, Biamp, and QSC

Experience with AV industry software and platforms

Network troubleshooting and deployment experience

Organized and proactive

Ability to read and understand design drawings

Experience in audio tuning, equalization, and DSP programming

Unified Communications (UC) experience

AVIXA CTS/CTS‑I preferred

Valid driver’s license
