Duties and Responsibilities
Communications, Marketing Strategy & Campaign Execution
Provide strategic leadership for integrated communications and marketing efforts, aligning initiatives with school, college, and university priorities.
Develop and execute annual and long-range communications and marketing plans, including goal setting, audience targeting, and measurable outcomes.
Lead ideation, planning, and execution of multi‑channel campaigns (web, email, social, and digital platforms), ensuring alignment across audiences and initiatives.
Oversee and actively manage the school’s digital channels, including website, email communications, and social media, with responsibility for content strategy, performance optimization, and growth.
Establish and track KPIs and develop regular reports and dashboards to assess effectiveness, inform decision‑making, and demonstrate impact.
Utilize data analytics and audience insights to refine messaging, improve engagement, and guide strategic direction.
Monitor market trends and higher education communications/marketing practices, translating insights into actionable strategies.
Serve as a senior writer, editor, and content strategist for complex or high‑visibility communications, while reviewing and approving content developed by staff.
Ensure consistency, quality, and alignment with institutional messaging and brand standards across all platforms.
Serve as primary liaison to the college marketing and communications team and coordinate with campus partners and external collaborators.
Leadership, Project Management & Operational Oversight
Provide direct supervision, coaching, and performance management for communications and events staff.
Operate within and manage project management systems and workflows to ensure accountability for timelines, deliverables, and priorities across multiple concurrent initiatives.
Oversee planning and execution of school‑hosted events through staff, ensuring alignment with communications and engagement strategies.
Review and approve event‑related communications, materials, and attendee experience to ensure quality, consistency, and alignment with school goals.
Coordinate and prioritize team activities to support strategic initiatives while maintaining day‑to‑day operational effectiveness.
Serve as a resource and escalation point for team and stakeholder needs.
School Communications Operations & Channel Ownership
Oversee and manage day‑to‑day communications operations (website updates, enhancements, analytics; social media management; email communications and stakeholder coordination; news content, media mentions, storytelling).
Ensure all channels are actively maintained, strategically aligned, and continuously improved.
Other
Assume additional responsibilities to further the mission and strategic goals of the school.
Participate in occasional evening/weekend events and limited travel as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, communications, public relations, or related field.
Three (3) years of professional work experience in marketing, public relations, communications, brand management, or related area.
Demonstrated experience leading projects, teams, or initiatives.
Demonstrated experience managing communications or marketing channels (web, email, social).
Note: Master’s Degree may substitute for one (1) year (12 months) of work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using data or analytics to inform strategy.
Experience developing and executing integrated marketing and communications strategies.
Experience managing multi‑channel campaigns and performance reporting.
Familiarity with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, email platforms, social media insights).
Experience working in higher education or similarly complex organizations.
Experience supervising staff or leading cross‑functional teams.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Appointment Information
Full‑time Civil Service Marketing Associate position appointed on a 12‑month service basis. Expected start date as soon as possible after closing. Salary range: $67,000 – $72,000. Hybrid work options may be available; on‑site attendance may be required per the University’s Workplace Flexibility policy.
Position is not eligible for any type of sponsorship for work authorization.
