Total Compensation Package
Base salary: $70,895 annually. Commission: up to $60,000 based on quota attainment. Bonus potential: $10,000. Pay range: $70,895 plus commissions.

Job Summary
We are hiring for an Outside Sales Consultant in the Columbus, Ohio territory. This exempt full‑time remote position is located within the territory. The position requires 60–75% travel (on‑site at schools, within territory).

Responsibilities

Contact current and prospective school districts and sites to sell the full portfolio of Follett content library and classroom materials, including books, early childhood materials, digital content, and technology platforms.

Promote, demonstrate, and sell the value of all assigned product lines and services using a shared outside/inside sales model, focusing on district level contacts.

Meet established sales dollar, sales development, and other key metrics for the position.

Monitor voicemail and email daily, respond to company correspondence promptly.

Attend and participate in local, regional, and national exhibits, webinars, trade shows, and sales meetings as scheduled.

Liaise with sales support groups, library service consultants, technical support, curriculum alignment, sales management, and other internal departments to respond to inquiries and follow up.

Manage the assigned territory using the CRM tool and maintain call plans, daily/weekly itineraries, and current company databases.

Review promotional materials, catalogs, and marketing collateral to present knowledgeably on sales calls and advance the sale.

Research online information on school districts, grants, programs, initiatives, and other relevant information.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of outside sales experience.

3–5 years of related sales experience.

Solid presentation skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Experience with complex sales situations and operating within a district sales model.

Must reside within the territory.
