We build a diverse collection of print and digital resources to support every student. We are hiring an Outside Sales Consultant in the Columbus, Ohio territory. This exempt full‑time remote position covers the territory and includes a pay range of $70,895 annually plus commissions.
Responsibilities

Contact current and prospective school districts and sites to sell the full portfolio of Follett content library and classroom books, early childhood materials, digital content, technology platforms, e‑fairs, and value‑added services and products.
Promote, demonstrate, and sell the value of all assigned product lines and services using a shared Outside/Inside sales model, focusing on district level contacts and partnering with inside sales on site‑based selling.
Meet established sales targets, monitor voicemail and email daily, and respond to company correspondence appropriately.
Attend local, regional, and national exhibits, webinars, trade shows, and sales meetings as scheduled.
Maintain communication with sales support groups within the company, library service consultants, technical support, curriculum alignment, sales management, and other internal departments to respond to inquiries and follow‑up as needed.
Manage the assigned territory using the CRM tool, call plans, daily/weekly itinerary, and current company databases.
Review and be knowledgeable about all promotional materials, catalogs, and customer‑facing marketing collateral to present knowledgeably on sales calls and advance sales.
Research internet information regarding school districts, grants, programs, initiatives, and other relevant information.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of outside sales experience.
Must reside within the territory; 60–75% travel (on‑site at schools, travel within territory).
3–5 years of related sales experience.
Solid presentation skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with complex sales situations and operating within a district sales model.
Total Compensation Package

$70,895 base salary, $60,000 commission with meeting quota goals, $10,000 bonus potential (approximately $140,000 if quota attained).
