The Director of Sales is responsible for leading the hotel’s Sales function and driving revenue performance across all market segments. This role is responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans to maximise occupancy, ADR, market share and overall hotel profitability while maintaining brand standards and strong client relationships.

The Director of Sales will lead and develop the Sales team, identify new business opportunities, grow existing accounts and work closely with Revenue Management, Marketing and Operations teams to deliver commercial success for the hotel.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial & Sales Strategy

Develop and implement strategic sales plans aligned with the hotel’s revenue and business objectives.

Maximise occupancy, ADR, revenue and market share across agreed priority market segments.

Identify, target and secure new business opportunities across corporate, MICE, travel trade, airline, government and leisure segments.

Maintain and grow relationships with key accounts, partners and stakeholders.

Monitor market trends, competitor activity and demand patterns to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.

Participate in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts and commercial business plans.

Conduct regular sales analysis and provide accurate forecasting, pipeline reporting and production updates.

Work closely with Revenue Management and Marketing teams to optimise business mix and commercial performance.

Represent the hotel at trade shows, client events, networking functions and industry activities.

Leadership & Team Management

Lead, coach, motivate and develop the Sales team to achieve individual and team targets.

Establish clear performance objectives and accountability measures across the Sales function.

Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions and development planning.

Foster a positive, collaborative and results-driven team culture.

Ensure all sales activities are conducted in line with company standards, policies and brand expectations.

Client & Relationship Management

Build strong and long-lasting relationships with guests, clients, business partners and industry stakeholders.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date client and account information within the hotel CRM system.

Ensure prompt follow-up and professional handling of all sales enquiries and opportunities.

Support Operations teams in ensuring seamless delivery of contracted business and guest satisfaction.

Reporting & Administration

Prepare sales reports, forecasts and market intelligence updates.

Monitor team productivity, conversion rates and account production performance.

Ensure all sales administration and reporting requirements are completed accurately and on time.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be a commercially driven and dynamic sales leader with strong knowledge of the Singapore hotel market and proven experience driving results within a fast-paced hotel environment.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a senior hotel sales leadership role.

Previous experience within Singapore hotel market preferred.

Strong understanding of corporate, MICE, wholesale, leisure and international transient segments.

Proven ability to solicit, qualify, secure and grow business opportunities.

Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and market share performance.

Experience leading and developing high-performing sales teams.

Strong understanding of hotel commercial strategy, forecasting and budgeting processes.

Excellent presentation, communication and negotiation skills.

Active participation in trade shows, familiarisation trips, client entertainment and industry events.

Flexible schedule with ability to travel when required.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Experience using hotel CRM, PMS and reporting systems preferred.

Qualifications

Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing or related field preferred.

Additional professional sales or commercial certifications advantageous.
