Undergraduate FLI Student Content Creator & Event Support
Location: Park Manor North, Ground Floor
Reports to: Manager, First-Generation Student Success & Undergraduate Marketing Intern
Pay Rate: $16/hour
Hours: Part-time; irregular schedule (students should not exceed 20 hours per week when combined with all on-campus employment). Students will be contacted when content opportunities arise; selected on a first‑come, first‑serve basis while supporting equitable access to opportunities.
This role will not offer regular, consistent employment hours. Students sign up to be added to a cohort of first‑generation or limited‑income students who may be asked to support Office marketing projects, speaking engagements, campus programs, and other as‑needed supports.
Ideal for undergraduate and graduate students who do not have existing on‑campus employment and who can speak to first‑generation or limited‑income identities.
Open to all academic years.
Students may not engage in paid opportunities until a social security number is received.
Background: First-Generation Student Success
First-Generation Student Success is a new initiative at Babson College, building upon existing programming and resources across campus offices and groups. It falls within Babson College Student Success, taking an integrative, synergetic, student‑centered approach to developing entrepreneurial leaders. It leverages this approach with a focus on students whose parents have not completed a 4‑year college degree within the United States. In Fall 2025, the program expanded to support limited‑income students and provide community and resources toward financial wellness.
Responsibilities
Assist staff and community members in program administration, including event set‑up/clean‑up and attendance tracking.
Support programming such as First‑Gen Welcome Dinner, conferences, professional development opportunities, end‑of‑year recognition, First‑Gen College Celebration Day (11/8), collaboration events, information sessions, and educational workshops.
Participate in tabling and other information sessions throughout the academic year with enthusiasm and professionalism.
Support management of the Babson food pantry, stock & exchange.
Engage with FLI partner offices in implementing key programming related to FLI identifies.
Serve as overnight host for perspective student events as requested.
Drive campus vehicle (van or golf cart) if eligible and approved.
Communication & Marketing
Participate in campus speaking events, such as Access Babson and other enrollment needs, orientation, and new‑student engagements.
Create office promotional videos and social media campaigns.
Submit content for office promotional materials (blogs, photos, video testimonials, written quotes, and more).
Develop office materials: event flyers, brochures, resource materials, social media posts, office branded merchandise, newsletters, and community updates.
Support the Marketing team with material translations, closed captioning, transcribing, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
Enrollment as a Babson College student (required).
Ability to add employment hours as‑needed; students working the maximum 20 hours consistently should not apply.
Enthusiasm and willingness to engage with peers, faculty, and staff during event facilitation.
Ability to demonstrate sensitivity, maintain confidentiality of students.
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Attention to detail.
Flexibility and willingness to assume new tasks and special projects.
Fluency in computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Basic knowledge or willingness to learn Babson College and Office marketing guidelines and online design tools.
