Position Overview

At Freddie Mac, our Public Relations and Digital Communications group is looking for an intern to support our media relations team. The role involves hands‑on experience in external media relations and strategy, working collaboratively with a dedicated communication team to raise awareness of Freddie Mac.
Responsibilities

Gain insight into the daily news cycle and routinely enhance media monitoring skills on a variety of issues.
Get hands‑on media relations experience by building targeted press lists, drafting pitches and press releases, and compiling press clips and memos.
Assist in the creation of interview briefs and talking points for media trainings and interview preparation.
Conduct risk analyses on high‑profile, industry‑related topics in the media environment.
Qualifications

Graduating in December 2025, May 2026 or December 2026.
Available to work from May 2025 to August 2025.
Currently working toward an undergraduate degree in communications, marketing, journalism, advertising or related fields, preferably with a strong writing emphasis.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Experience in effective, inspiring, and inventive visual storytelling.
Appreciation for performance metrics and experience with aggregating data and identifying trends.
Familiarity with emerging corporate social and other media trends and best practices.
Proven ability to meet deadlines, take direction and work collaboratively.

Compensation

Interns are paid at a non‑negotiable hourly rate of $32/hr.
