Air Products and Chemicals Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for an Operation Technician at our Galt, California facility. This role the candidate will be responsible for operating, maintaining and fixing processes and equipment in a facility producing and shipping various industrial gases. Responsibilities include working within procedure‑based systems to ensure ES&H compliance, quality assurance, reliability, and cost control. The candidate must be self‑motivated, safety conscious, a good communicator, and possess good organization, operating and mechanical skills.
Responsibilities
Safety performance, basic safety process compliance, and process safety management.
Support all aspects of day‑to‑day operation, including solving plant process problems, directly supervising daily plant activities, and driving plant projects.
Troubleshoot plant process or mechanical problems, coordinate maintenance activities, and drive plant efficiency and plant projects.
24/7 on‑call responsibilities for response to plant alarms and shutdowns.
Identify maintenance concerns, develop and implement corrective/preventive measures while working within planned maintenance budgets.
Work with the Galt Operations Team to cover vacation and outage support to all associated facilities within the Galt Site Manager’s areas of responsibility.
Perform and maintain all administrative responsibilities for the sites.
Work with support resources to achieve efficiency targets in all areas.

Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Certificate in process technology or maintenance field (preferred) or at least 2 years minimum in a manufacturing/production, processing or chemical/petrochemical environment.

Strong instrument, electrical and/or mechanical proficiency desired.
Demonstrated dedication to safety and continuous improvement.
Self‑starter, willing to work alone or as part of a team.
Military training in a technical field valued.
Success in EH&S and Quality confirmed.
Experience in complex plant operations, skilled in troubleshooting.
Knowledge of generated gas or air separation processes a plus (training provided).
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Proficiency in computer applications.

Compensation
The hourly rate for this position ranges from $44.28 to $48.48 per hour.
