Assistant Band Director (anticipated opening)

Anticipated Assistant Band Director Valley Mills ISD is accepting applications for an anticipated Assistant Band Director position for the 2026-2027 school year. Valley Mills ISD is a small, student-centered district committed to academic and extracurricular excellence. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head Band Director to support and grow a strong band program that serves students from beginning band through high school. Primary Responsibilities: • Assist with instruction and rehearsal of middle school and high school band students • Support marching band, concert band, pep band, and UIL preparation • Assist with beginner band instruction and recruitment • Help coordinate band events, travel, equipment, and inventory • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members • Maintain high expectations for student achievement, discipline, and character • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Band Director and campus administration Qualifications: • Valid Texas teaching certification • Knowledge of instrumental music pedagogy and ensemble performance • Strong classroom management and organizational skills • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team • CDL certification or willingness to obtain certification preferred Valley Mills ISD offers a supportive environment with strong community involvement and pride in student success.
