Description

The Program Supervisor of Parents as Teachers is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and delivery of key programs that support the mission of the organization. This role provides leadership and supervision to program staff, ensures services are delivered effectively and in alignment with organizational goals, and maintains compliance with funder and regulatory requirements. The Program Supervisor collaborates with internal teams and external partners to monitor program performance, support continuous improvement, and ensure a high standard of service to the community.

Essential Functions

Provide direct weekly supervision to 5 Parent Educators (1 PAT Bergen, 2 PAT Morris, and 2 PAT Warren) to review family case plans, progress and any problems directed not only toward assuring quality or service provision, but also toward protecting the integrity and respect of the families served
Work collaboratively with the HF Morris Supervisor to provide support and guidance to Program Assistant
Maintain supervision documents updated, organized and properly stored
Prepare and provide reports required by agency and funder in timely and accurate manner
Utilize PatSys database and Connecting NJ referral system to monitor program performance
Assign clients to Parent Educators
Coordinate all data collection for evaluation of outcomes and program success
Shadow Parent Educators twice per year
Support Program Assistant in coordinating all PAT parent workshops and events
Conduct team meetings and provide ongoing staff development
Provide daily support, problem-solving, and crisis management while exercising prudent judgment
Cultivate and maintain community relationships and act as a liaison with community partners
Track expenses and periodically review program budget status. Create spending plans in accordance with program activities and with approval of direct supervisor
Collaborate with Program Manager, funder(s) and technical assistance provider on all levels of program implementation (i.e. staffing, service delivery, data outcomes, and program trends)
Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff
Oversees the daily workflow of the program/department

Requirements

Bachelors Degree required; Masters degree in early childhood or related field is preferred
Two or more years of experience in Maternal and Child Health experience required
Experience in managing and motivating staff and providing support is required
Administrative experience in human services programs required
Knowledge of maternal-infant health and concepts of child abuse
eglect is required
Experience working with culturally diverse communities/families and vulnerable populations is required
Supervisory experience is preferred
Understanding in utilizing tools and assessments for resource distribution and eligibility
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong leadership skills and ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
