Role Overview

As a Product Development Sr. Associate, you will support the end‑to‑end product creation process from concept through commercialization, partnering with design, materials, production and overseas teams to ensure product integrity, on‑time delivery, and cost targets are achieved.
Responsibilities

Manage day‑to‑day development of assigned footwear styles across multiple seasons/categories.
Ensure alignment with design intent, function and performance requirements by participating in proto techpack handoffs.
Execute the pass‑off of tech packs to manufacturing partners on behalf of design; communicate directly with overseas teams on development status, technical issues and sample expectations.
Ensure factories fully understand design intent and technical specifications to minimize development iterations.
Participate in construction reviews with design and technical team, provide clear and actionable feedback on prototypes, including construction, materials and adjustments to overseas teams.
Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to manage spec turnover within calendar deliverables to ensure timeliness on protos, SMS, and confirmation samples.
Work closely with materials team to validate materials meet costs and quality targets on all development.
Troubleshoot constructions, materials and feasibility of make with technical team and factory partners, escalating as needed.
Ensure PLM system accuracy/completion to support KPIs.
Support cost engineering efforts to meet target margins and balance product quality, design intent and cost constraints.
Ensure all products meet brand standards for quality.
Address and resolve issues prior to commercialization.
Validate correct logo usage, branding applications, color standards, and placement throughout development.
Follow calendar to ensure timely turnover of development, return of prototypes, and market samples and placement of final production.
Monitor calendar daily to promote flow of development; resolve calendar variances with supervisor.
Own end‑to‑end buy readiness for assigned categories, driving cross‑functional alignment to ensure all product, material and specification requirements are completed accurately and on time to support on‑time production schedule.
Participate in material reviews to validate material readiness, approvals and risk mitigation before production.
Lead final production spec reviews in conjunction with design, to ensure all detailing is finalized and approved for production.
Ensure production BOMs are 100% accurate and are clearly shared with overseas teams to avoid production discrepancies.
Partner with production team to confirm final style selection and production allocation.
Maintain accurate and timely updates of Buy Ready data files to reflect production readiness status.
Proactively track and drive resolution of all open development issues prior to production to minimize risks of delay.
Support and enforce late‑add sample process, ensuring expedited development, review and approval to prevent production delays.
Track all confirmation samples and schedule review to ensure exact execution of final design.
Qualifications

3+ years in footwear product development or related field.
Bachelor’s degree in product development or related field preferred but not required.
Experience working with global factories.
Some knowledge of footwear constructions.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly with global factory partners.
Ability to manage multiple products and deadlines simultaneously.
Detail oriented with strong problem‑solving skills.
Strong ownership mindset with a focus on production readiness and execution excellence.
Strong eye for detail and visual execution.
Compensation Range

$80,000.00 – $85,000.00 USD (offer based on experience and location).
