Overview
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for managing a region within the Wound Reconstruction domestic sales organization, ensuring that sales and marketing goals are achieved while producing a profitable contribution to Integra Lifesciences.
Responsibilities
Develop realistic and achievable quarterly sales objectives with each representative.
Maximize contribution margin through pricing and expense decisions and by effectively utilizing clinical education, product specialists, sales support, and training resources.
Prepare and present the Regional Business Plan to the Vice President of Sales or Area Sales Director, encompassing all territories’ contribution projections.
Maintain and update the Business Plan on a routine basis.
Analyze sales, marketing, and financial information to monitor achievement toward sales and margin goals.
Work with sales reps to plan, target, and close local business opportunities.
Operate within defined budgets.
Staff the region and maintain communications with sales personnel so that they operate efficiently within company policy and values.
Interact with Human Resources regarding hiring, development, improvement plans, and terminations.
Provide input and instruction to all functions within Integra that support ongoing sales channel development.
Monitor and manage representatives’ use of Sales Intelligence Tools (e.g., Sales Force Automation, Sales CUBE).
Interface regularly with existing and potential key customers.
Inform sales and marketing teams of competitive activities, industry trends, and product acceptance.
Coordinate contract proposals with Integra Legal and Sales Departments.
Develop rapport with key customers to build the company’s image.
Participate in routine sales meetings and represent the company at conventions and key customer gatherings.
Strictly adhere to the Advamed Code of Conduct and the Sunshine Act.
Desired Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year college or university; Master’s/MBA preferred.
5+ years of successful sales and sales management in medical device marketplace.
3+ years of sales management experience, with preference for candidates having device company experience.
Track record of aggressively growing a region with independent distributors and driving year‑over‑year revenue.
Willingness to take responsibility for sales within a defined territory and to be held accountable for regional goals.
Located in the Heartland region.
Top‑level business management, interpersonal, and computer skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and polished presentation ability.
Stable work history.
Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
Physical Requirements
The employee must repeatedly sit, listen, speak, and move throughout all locations of the building. They may be required to lift or move up to 25lbs. The role requires travel via car and/or airplane to domestic and international locations as needed.
